Attention and anxiety
ADHD, anxiety, and executive-functioning difficulties can affect learning, relationships, routines, and daily functioning.
Autism Psychiatry
Autistic people can experience psychiatric concerns differently at different ages. Pawar Psychiatry provides evaluation and medication management that considers the person’s developmental profile, communication, sensory needs, medical context, strengths, and goals.
A psychiatric consultation may be useful when emotional, attentional, sleep, mood, or behavioral concerns are causing distress or interfering with daily life. It may also help when symptoms overlap, prior treatments have been difficult to interpret, or a patient and family want a more individualized medication review.
Dr. Pawar sees autistic children and adolescents and also provides psychiatric care for autistic adults. Care is available through telehealth for patients physically located in Massachusetts at the time of each visit.
Concerns considered in context
Autism may coexist with several concerns that influence one another and call for a careful clinical formulation.
ADHD, anxiety, and executive-functioning difficulties can affect learning, relationships, routines, and daily functioning.
Mood symptoms, irritability, sleep difficulties, and behavioral challenges may need careful assessment in developmental context.
A consultation can review whether medication may be appropriate, what it can and cannot address, and how benefits and risks would be monitored.
Evaluation is organized around the whole person rather than a checklist alone. Dr. Pawar considers development, communication preferences, sensory experiences, physical health, family and school or work context, prior treatment, and the patient’s own priorities.
When medication is appropriate, it is considered as one part of a broader plan. Recommendations are discussed collaboratively, and care may be coordinated with therapists, primary care clinicians, schools, caregivers, or other supports when clinically helpful and authorized.
